Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible 1930s Kodak Recomar 18 folding plate camera. This compact 6.5x9 cm German-made camera features an excellent cosmetic build and serves as a phenomenal display piece or restoration candidate for vintage film enthusiasts.
Why This Kit Stands Out:
Unlike many baseline listings, this camera comes complete with its original removable ground glass focusing back panel and the intact leather pop-up sun hood stamped with the crisp vintage Kodak logo.
Condition Notes:
• Bellows: The leather bellows extend cleanly and are completely light-tight (no visible light leaks under a light check).
• Cosmetics: Very strong aesthetic condition. The original black leatherette covering is entirely intact, the original stamped leather handle (\"18\") shows beautifully aged character, and the nickel-plated bed rails are exceptionally bright and clean.
• Optics & Mechanics: The glass elements on the Kodak Anastigmat 105mm lens look remarkably clear. The internal aperture blades slide open smoothly. Because this is a 90+ year old completely mechanical antique, it is being sold mechanically untested / as-is for display or restoration. The shutter mechanisms operate but the timing accuracy has not been verified with film.
