This is a gorgeous vintage ribbon bow brooch, made in Italy of solid 18k gold, from the 1940\'s or 50\'s. The bow is exquisitely sculpted, and despite being quite small, is absolutely stunning and incredibly eye-catching. The bow has a finely wrought textured surface, overlaid with a pattern of small circles, or polka dots, vaguely floral in design. The backside is highly polished, and features the safety clasp pin back, as well as a small hook on the bottom, for hanging pendants or charms off of. With the addition of that hook, this piece becomes spectacularly modular, and could hold any number of other pieces of jewelry to change it\'s look. The piece is made of 18k yellow gold, a very warm-toned gold, not quite rose, and weighs approximately 2.78 grams. The piece has Italian hallmarks on the reverse, stamped as \'750\' for 18K gold, and with the Italian goldsmith identification code \'44 AL.\' The code theoretically refers to the #44 goldsmith in Alessandria, Italy, which could be Bonafede Pietro, who that code is possibly affiliated with.
