This is a vintage 1940\'s or early 1950\'s NEVER-RIPUM brand \'Oil Crew\' chainstitched jacket, in a size 48.On the back of the jacket are the words \'OIL CREW\' spelled out in vibrant red chain-stitched embroidery. Likely the coveralls were originally either owned by someone in the oil/gas industry, or the automotive/mechanic industry. The jacket was likely a converted pair of coveralls, hemmed and hand-stitched at the waist. Due to this, the jacket is unusual in design, with two chest pockets, and convertible collar, wide boxy arms and chest, with a very short torso. Because this is an altered garment, the sizing is very unusual. The labeled size 48 is still relatively accurate, but the fit is very boxy, and definitely cropped. Please also note that the hem (which is where the waist would have fallen on the original coveralls, is much smaller than the chest measurement, which could result in a tapered, fitted look. Please refer to the below measurements before purchasing.A fantastic and incredibly unique piece.
