Wonderful vintage “Miss Jamaica” handmade cloth souvenir doll, approximately 12 inches tall.
She features a hand-painted cloth face, large gold-tone hoop earrings, colorful patterned clothing, apron, and a woven straw basket filled with decorative fruit/produce on her head. “Miss Jamaica” is handwritten on the front of her clothing.
These traditional Jamaican folk dolls were handmade as tourist souvenirs, particularly during the mid-20th century. Her style and construction are consistent with examples dating from approximately the 1940s–1960s.
She remains in nice vintage condition for her age. There is normal age-related wear, fading, loose threads/fraying and wear to the basket and clothing, as shown in the photos. Please review all pictures closely because they are part of the condition description.
