Up for sale is a beautiful, bright, and authentic vintage 1940s quilt top featuring a wonderful variation of the traditional Flying Geese pattern. This striking piece utilizes a cheerful, solid marigold/buttercup yellow cotton fabric for the large framing blocks and borders, heavily accented with intricate rows of pieced triangles.
The triangles showcase an incredible time-capsule variety of mid-century domestic textiles: classic polka dots, multi-colored ditsy florals, calico prints, stripes, and novelty scrap patterns. It is an amazing example of resourceful, era-specific utility quilting. I see no machine stitching, looks to be to the best of my knowledge completly had stitchedDimensions

Condition & Craftsmanship
- Structure: Excellent structural condition with no holes or tears. The hand stitching and piecing remains strong and intact across the entire top.
- Fabric & Color: Exceptionally vibrant and lively. The yellow is bold, and the individual print triangles retain excellent color contrast.
- Flaws to Note: There is some minor, faint age-related spotting/storage staining present on the yellow blocks (as pictured). We have left this completely original and unwashed to preserve the textile for its next owner. It has unfinished raw edges, ready for you to layer with batting and backing to finish as a full quilt, or use for historical display, farmhouse décor, or cutter craft projects.
