Vintage 1940s Hirsch-Weis / White Stag Water-Repellent Hunting & Logger Pants – Portland, Oregon
Excellent early pair of Hirsch-Weis / White Stag heavy-duty outdoor pants, dating to approximately the 1940s.
These were made by White Stag Manufacturing Co. of Portland, Oregon, originally Hirsch-Weis, a historically significant Pacific Northwest outdoor-clothing manufacturer.
Constructed from extremely heavy treated cotton canvas/tin-cloth-style material, these were designed as serious work and outdoor pants for hunting, logging and other rugged use.
Features include heavy water-repellent canvas construction, all-metal snap/button hardware, belt loops, wide straight legs, large utility/field pockets, two rear flap pockets, and the original Hirsch-Weis / White Stag Water Repellent label.
These are in well-used vintage condition with substantial staining, discoloration, abrasion, including one hole visible in the photos, creasing and general wear from use and age. Please examine all photos carefully. I have intentionally not washed, treated, waxed or restored them, as the original condition and patina are part of their appeal as a collectible vintage garment.
A particularly cool piece of Pacific Northwest outdoor, hunting and logging history, and an increasingly difficult early White Stag item to find.
