Vintage 1940s WWII-era celluloid novelty sweetheart pin featuring a red military-style airplane with painted white star insignias and white tail details. This type of whimsical Home Front jewelry was produced during the WWII period and could feature small novelty charms suspended from a chain beneath the airplane.
This example retains the red celluloid airplane pin but is missing its original dangling chain and charms, making it an incomplete example. The airplane has a wonderful translucent deep red color and molded dimensional construction characteristic of vintage celluloid jewelry.
