Vintage 1950s parasol with a patchwork canopy pieced from woven metallic brocade borders in emerald, lavender, teal, orange, and plum. Paisley, floral, and checkerboard bands are accented with gold sequins on chain-stitch embroidery. The canopy appears original to the frame.
The handle is a glossy swirled translucent crook in cobalt and teal with dark ribbon bands. It appears to be Lucite and has a chrome collar and black tip. The frame is a telescoping steel one with wrapped, tied rib tips.
Measurements:
• 30" point to point across the top
• 17" from center to handle
Very good vintage condition with an intact, vibrant canopy. Light age wear consistent with its age: a few loose threads and missing sequins, a small smudge on one panel, a tiny spot of rust on the shaft, and slight wear at the rib tips. Overall solid and gorgeous. Ready to be used or displayed. Please see all photos and ask any questions before purchase.
Perfect for boho weddings, photo shoots, window displays, mid-century travel decor, or collectors of vintage parasols and umbrellas.
