Authentic vintage Molly Modes New York black satin evening coat, dating approximately to the late 1950s / early 1960s.
A beautiful mid-century silhouette with a dramatically flared swing shape, wide sculptural shawl collar and rounded bracelet-length sleeves. The coat hangs open at the front and has a generous cut through the body, creating an elegant cocoon-like shape.
Constructed from substantial black satin of unknown fiber content and fully lined in contrasting ivory satin. The back features a distinctive curved cape-style yoke detail.
A wonderful vintage evening, cocktail or opera coat with classic late-1950s glamour.
