Early vintage Athearn HO-scale Budd Rail Diesel Car (RDC) dating from Athearn's original 1953 all-metal RDC series. These early models are significant in Athearn history as the company's first HO-scale powered motive-power models, predating the much more familiar later plastic-bodied Athearn RDCs.This example retains its original period Athearn “HO Railway Diesel Car” box and original assembly instructions. The model features the characteristic early metal construction with detailed trucks, underbody equipment and separate cast components.IMPORTANT CONDITION: This is being sold as a vintage project/collector model. It has been previously assembled or partially assembled and is presently partially disassembled. The cab/end sections and other components shown in the photographs are loose.
