Up for sale is a magnificent piece of mid-century American watchmaking history: a 1954 Bulova Selfwinding featuring an incredibly beautiful, highly textured honeycomb dial. Bulova was renown in the 1950s for creating some of the most stylistically adventurous dials, and this particular reference showcases that golden era perfectly with its complex geometric texturing and bold wrist presence.

This vintage watch is in honest, pre-owned condition consistent with its age. The original dial displays a lovely uniform patina with some light age spots and dust under the crystal. The gold-tone hands show some surface oxidization. The chrome-plated case shows wear and brassing on the lugs and sides, typical of 1950s base-metal watches. The domed acrylic crystal has fine hairline scratches but remains clear. The movement is remarkably clean visually as pictured; however, please note that service history is unknown and a professional overhaul is recommended for daily timekeeping accuracy.
