DESCRIPTION:
Bring a piece of mid-century culinary history to your kitchen or vintage collection! Co-authored by the legendary icon James Beard and Helen Evans Brown, this 1955 Book Club Edition of \'The Complete Book of Outdoor Cookery\' covers everything from charcoal grilling and fireplace cooking to rotisserie, pit, and hibachi methods.
This specific copy comes with its original dust jacket and features a charming personalized touch from a past home chef—a classic \'Hobo Soup\' tin-can recipe clipping attached permanently to the front flyleaf. A highly collectible, functional, and nostalgic manual for the outdoor cooking enthusiast. Sold by Moonlighting Vintage. Veteran owned and operated.
CONDITION:
Good / Fair vintage condition being sold As-Is. Please see all pictures to make a final determination of condition. Hardcover binding is structurally sound and intact. The dust jacket is present with standard edge wear, small chips, and light rubbing expected for its age. The interior text block is clean and free of heavy markings, EXCEPT for a unique historical modification on the front flyleaf: a vintage \"Hobo Dinner / Hobo Soup\" recipe clipping from a different period cookbook has been physically pasted onto the Title page by a previous owner. The old adhesive has left a typical amber-brown age halo stain on the surrounding paper. The pages are free of staining from food and grease. Which can be a rarity in these older cookbooks. Perfect for functional use or a display of authentic mid-century kitchen history.
