Up for sale is a vintage 1955 The Martin Imperial Cornet made by the Martin Band Instrument Company in Elkhart Indiana.
The serial number stamped on the valve casing is 194956.
This horn has extensive structural damage and is being sold strictly AS IS for parts or a heavy restoration project.
It is currently unplayable. Please look closely at all photos before purchasing.
The main bell tail tube has multiple severe deep crush dents and ripples that pinch the brass tubing.
There is also a horizontal dent on the front flare near the engraved logo. The front rim edge remains mostly round.
There is another sharp deep crease indentation on the inner main tubing running alongside the valve cluster which restricts the internal airflow.
The spit valve water key lever is bent completely flat and wedged hard against the bell tube so it cannot open.
The instrument is missing the third valve top finger button pearl cap and is also missing the small thumb tightening screw for the music lyre mount.
The finish is naturally aged raw brass patina with almost all original lacquer missing.
This listing includes the instrument ONLY. No mouthpiece, no accessories, and no case are included.
