Fun with German by Lee Cooper HC DJ 1965 7th Printing Ex-Library Illustrated Vintage
Description:
Fun with German by Lee Cooper, illustrated by Elizabeth M. Githens. Little, Brown and Company, copyright 1965, seventh printing. Hardcover with dust jacket.
This vintage children's language primer uses a circus theme to introduce young readers to German. The jacket copy explains that English and German are both Germanic languages, so kids already know more German than they think. The charming cover shows a bear clown in a polka-dot suit and striped party hat, banging a big green drum. Lee Cooper also wrote Fun with Spanish and co-wrote Fun with French and Fun with Italian, so this is a nice piece for collectors of the series, mid-century children's books, or vintage homeschool materials.
