Vintage 1970 Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico – Original 12-Bottle Wooden Wine Case

Wonderful original vintage wooden wine case from Ruffino, one of Tuscany’s historic wine producers.

This case originally held 12 bottles of Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico, 750ml each, and retains its original Ruffino branding, Riserva Ducale Oro markings, Chianti Classico identification and vintage paper labeling indicating 1970.

The original internal wooden/cardboard bottle-divider system is also still present.

Riserva Ducale Oro is one of Ruffino’s historic wines, first introduced in 1947. This approximately 55-year-old case makes an outstanding decorative and collectible piece for an Italian wine enthusiast, sommelier, restaurant, wine cellar, tasting room, home bar or vintage advertising collection.

Condition:

Authentic vintage condition with substantial age-related character and patina. There are scratches, stains, fading, small chips/splits, nail wear and other signs of use and storage. Portions of the original paper labels/seals are missing or deteriorated, particularly on the top and side.

These imperfections are consistent with the age and original commercial use of the case and, in my opinion, contribute greatly to its vintage appearance.
