This is a three piece St John knit suit in cream with navy trim, with the St John by Marie Gray label in both the jacket and the blouse, which dates it to the 1970s. The jacket and skirt are the dense, springy Santana knit the house built its name on, and the matching blouse is what makes it a suit rather than separates.
The jacket is short and fitted with long sleeves and a single hook at the neck, with navy striping at the cuffs and the waistband. The straight skirt sits on an elastic waist. The long sleeved button-down blouse is polyester, with a navy fold-down collar and navy cuffs that line up with the jacket's stripes when the two are worn together. All three pieces are unlined.
