Unusual collection of original vintage Kmart Automotive Department “Helpful Hints” internal service and training bulletins with some dating from 1976 through 1978. These appear to have been distributed internally to Kmart automotive department managers and regional management rather than being consumer publications.
34 sheets total: 29 black-and-white sheets and 5 teal/color sheets. Only three of the 29 black-and-white sheets are duplicate copies; all others are unique, for approximately 31 different bulletins represented.
Topics relate to automotive repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, parts and service procedures. Many feature the distinctive KEI Helpful Hints masthead and automobile-pattern border, with period typewritten text, technical illustrations, signatures and other details.
