Up for sale is this vintage KitchenAid 2 burner drop in cooktop, with 1 Radiant Burner and 1 Halogen Burner, from 1993!
CONDITION: The unit is in good cosmetic condition with just one small nick on the very front lip ... See the pics! The ceramic is clean with no cracks or damage! The 2 cabinet brackets shown are included, but I honestly don't know how they attach!
Some one had cut the wires very close to the opening. There was a second exit point for the wires closer to where they originated, so I rerouted them out that side and replaced the ground wire with a longer one. All this was done prior to testing.
TESTING: We wired this up and gave it a test. Both burners came on and turn bright red. Note that halogen burners work differently than radiant and come on full brightness (grab some sunglasses) and then the burner cycles off and on to keep an even temp. This is normal operation.
CAUTION - VINTAGE ITEM: This is an older unit very well made but vintage. Consult an electrician for proper installation.
