Original vintage Mattel Totally Hair Black/African American Barbie #5948, from the iconic early-1990s Totally Hair collection.
This is the Black/African American version featuring Barbie\'s extraordinarily long dark hair, voluminous styled hair, bright blue/green/pink geometric swirl-print mini dress and coordinating blue and green accessories.
This is an original vintage release—not the modern 25th Anniversary reproduction.
One particularly useful identifying feature is the original packaging, which is marked:

The back also retains the period Dep Corporation licensing language and the original “Dolls cannot stand alone. Each sold separately.” packaging text.

Condition Details
The doll itself displays beautifully and remains secured within the original packaging.
The box is not mint. Visible age/storage wear includes surface scratches/scuffs to the clear plastic window, edge and corner wear, and some creasing/bending to the cardboard, particularly around the upper and side areas. There is also visible wear/aging to portions of the packaging. Please use the photographs to evaluate the exact condition.
