These guitars are now legendary - and while many listings will claim to be from the \"Cunetto Era\" , this example is a TRUE Vince Cunetto painted and aged Strat. This is one of the nicest Relic Strats we have EVER laid our hands on. It really nails the feel, look and tone of a Pre-CBS Slab-Board Strat. The neck on this amazing guitar has some of the most intense flame we\'ve seen on ANY guitar from any era of Fender. Just incredible stuff!!

These have become somewhat legendary guitars and for good reason. They are absolutely incredible guitars that were \"Master Built\" before that was even a thing.

While there\'s quite a bit of information regarding these to be found online, the short history is that in the infancy of the Fender Custom Shop, they were not yet equipped to authentically finish and hand age guitars as they would today. All of this work was out-soured to the now legendary Vince Cunetto in Bolivar, Missouri. These amazing guitars were painted with incredibly authentic 1950\'s style finishes. The necks and bodies hand aged as were all of the metal hardware. The woods Fender sent the Cunetto operation were consistently the best of the best available. Hand selected bodies that are lightweight and resonant, incredible flamed maple necks. They spared no expense on these.

John Page, a legend in his own right, was running a tight ship at the Fender Custom Shop and this run of guitars would kickstart what is now commonly referred to as the \"dream factory\" which employs master and team builders hand building these guitars too numerous to count.

Not only do these original Cunetto Fenders sound and play incredibly well, offering all the vibe and tone of a vintage 50\'s Strat for a small fraction of the price, they are also an important historical link on the continuum of Fender and American Guitar Craftsmanship. They will only continue to become more collectable and valuable as the years go by.
