great conditionThis piece is an authentic promotional t-shirt produced for the 1997 Japanese theatrical distribution of Jacques Rivette\'s 1995 French film Haut Bas Fragile (Up, Down, Fragile). The graphics highlight key characters and scenes alongside prominent billing for French New Wave icon Anna Karina and director Jacques Rivette. The back print references Japanese fashion label IÉNA alongside distributor Comstock Ltd, illustrating a classic crossover between 1990s Japanese fashion retail and art-house cinema distribution. Constructed in the United States on a single-stitch Hanes Beefy-T youth blank, it exemplifies the scarce, localized promotional items produced exclusively for Japanese boutique screenings.
