Vintage 1950s/1960s Lee Claire Bonwit Teller icy blue and silver sparkly brocade maxi gown. Perfect for formal events, black tie events, winter formal, eveningwear.
Labeled size 16, but fits more like a modern 8-10. See measurements below
The word stunning may be overused, but it is truly applicable here. This elegant beauty gives an almost ethereal sparkle, almost guaranteed to turn heads when you walk in the room. Icy Cinderella blue, silver & irridescent almost tinsel-like threading, rhinestone-studded. Glamorous 1950s/60s does Regency era. I feel like royalty trying it on. Very Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, very Bridgerton. See photos for style inspo/examples.
The Lee Claire tag may date to 1950s, Bonwit Teller may date to 1960s.
Bateau neckline, high empire waist, somewhere in between a sheath and an A-line skirt, scoop back. Back zipper & thread eye.
Condition: Good vintage. Thread "sprouts" throughout the brocade, hard to see when worn. One tear in the out brocade at bottom of back. Dress is a lighter color towards the bottom, unsure if intentional or faded. Very hard to tell, I didn't notice until after multiple times of viewing it. You can see in the photos.
Wearer is 5'8", approx size 8. Touches the floor on me.
