Condition: Good Condition
Up for sale is an incredibly beautiful, highly collectible example of a vintage Swedish-made Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5500C in factory black anodized aluminum. This is not your standard mass-produced silver/gray model; it is a highly sought-after factory black variant from a legendary production era.🔍 Transitional Rarity & Provenance (Foot Code: 800904)For serious collectors, the stamped foot code 800904 places this exact reel in a historically important, brief production window from September 1980. This is a true Revision 04 transitional layout. It features the iconic, intact square black-and-red foil text sticker decals alongside the smooth side-plate frame design that allowed the logo text to hug the rim. It perfectly marries classic 1970s robust construction with the updated early-1980s styling.💎 Condition Report• Cosmetic Condition: The black anodized finish is remarkably clean with sharp, vibrant side-plate decals. No major boat rash, deep gouges, or severe rim wear. Please study the high-resolution photos to see just how well-preserved this reel is. You can find slight rust areas and some pitting but overall this reel looks great and works great.
• Mechanical Condition: Functions flawlessly. The level-wind system moves smoothly across the carriage, the spool spins freely with excellent free-spool time, and the dual mechanical brake/cast-control tension caps adjust perfectly. Both the clicker and the drag system engage with tight, crisp precision.
• Inclusions: Reel only. Does not include the original cardboard box or paperwork.
