Vintage Handmade African Gourd Thumb Piano (Kalimba / Mbira)
Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage African thumb piano featuring a hand-carved wood soundboard mounted to a natural halved-gourd resonator base. It features 7 metal keys (tines) held securely by a wire bridge assembly. A rustic fiber hanging loop is tied around the center bar.
This is a wonderful, rustic folk art piece that makes a fantastic conversation starter, shelf display item, or addition to an ethnomusicology collection.

Pre-owned / Vintage Folk Art Condition. This is an older, handmade item showing honest signs of age and wear. The natural gourd base is fully intact with no major structural cracks.
