Vintage Art Deco Mandalian Manufacturing Co.silver plate & enamel mesh purse For Sale

Produced in the early 20th century these coin bags were made of silver plate, enamel & mesh.Highly collectable as things of quality & beautiful workmanship. The Mandalian Mfg Co.acquired 2 U.S.patents on this process and they are the preferred maker of these bags due to the proprietary process that made the colors last longer. Soft colors and very beautiful engraving as shown in photo.Chain i believe is called \'paper clip\' style. The frame of the bag is beautifully etched front & back with a floral design. Also a lovely raised enamel floral motif. intact with no dullness or missing pieces. The Mandalian Mfg.Co. had a selection featured in a jewelers catalogue of the time. The length of the bag is 14.5 inches including the chain and it is a little more than 3.5 wide.& 5/16 deep. The pattern is the same front & back .The hinges are firm and work perfectly. The \'crown \'top also firm.Closure works as it should..there are a few fringes missing.Inside the frame it is engraved with the makers name..possibly silk lined at one time that did not survive..some were refitted...still functions as a purse.if I were going to use it today i would put a credit card in and a lipstick ! .all in all I would rate this 9.5 out of 10..just think its nearly 100 years old.
This has been in my \'special\' drawer for decades.Questions welcome.
