Vintage Catholic Last Rites / Sick Call box featuring a wooden crucifix cabinet with a framed 1941 Warner Sallman “Head of Christ” image on the front. The cabinet opens to reveal fitted compartments for the traditional items used during Catholic sick calls and Last Rites. Includes the crucifix with molded corpus, candle, antique Holy Water bottle with stopper, two small glass dishes, and spoon as pictured.Includes an antique clear glass holy water bottle featuring an embossed cross and lettering, complete with its distinctive crown-shaped stopper and cork. This style of devotional bottle is collectible on its own, with comparable examples appearing in antique religious collections. The glass shows beautiful rainbow-like iridescence when it catches the light, adding to its character and aged appearance.Especially interesting is the old newspaper wrapped around one of the candles, with visible Youngstown, Ohio businesses and addresses, giving the set additional local history and dating it's last use to November of 1962.Beautiful vintage religious piece with age-related wear consistent with its age.
