This is what I believe to be a Mandau head-hunter ritualistic sword! , from the dayak tribe of Borneo. it contains, again, from what i've been told, and fronm what i see, lion's teeth. not sure of any other material, this is a very cool display item, sword is not sharp, but still can be dangerous, please use caution as if it were sharp, there are a few wooden pieces that are kept along the outside of the scabbard, for what reason?? idk..looks as if someone maybe was working on designing another handle?? maybe?? there is a small piece of material that somewhat connects or overlaps the wooden handle to the sword, this piece of material is loose and it can be moved or pulled down a bit to more cover the sword near the base, nothing big, just thought it should be mentioned. the handle itself feels tight . the sword glides in and out from the scabbard rather smoothly. this is a wicked cool item and extremely inteeresting to look at and enjoy. wish i had some real info for ya' but i just don't. i looked up whether or not lion's bones themselves were legal or illegal to ship etc... from what i saw online, and the info that i had looked at, the bones themselves are totally legal 100% to ship and own, on the other hand, a lion's skull, i believe and it's hide/skin need specific documents along with them, or are juist totally illegal to ship. so we both should be in the clear on this item. selling this item as-is and i do not guarantee any authenticity, although i do believe this to be authentic/ real, etc..i should say that statement to cover myself. oh almost forgot, this weighs about 1 lb. 12 ounces, it is also about 28 inches in length when in it's scabbard. i may have to add signature confirmation because of the price, ill let uknow if i am adding that.
