Description:For sale is a wonderful, highly collectible example of the classic Dinky Toys No. 198 Rolls-Royce Phantom V in its iconic two-tone metallic light grey/green over cream livery. Manufactured in England by Meccano Ltd, this model features functional fingertip steering, four working sliding side windows, independent 4-wheel suspension, jeweled headlights, and its original blue-uniformed chauffeur figure seated behind a white steering wheel.This model comes complete with its original 1960s picture box, making it an excellent investment piece or a standout addition to any die-cast vehicle collection. • The Model (Overall): Excellent, highly preserved condition with bright, glossy original paint and complete silver trim.
• Body & Roof Paint: The lower cream body panels and doors are incredibly clean and free of chips. The metallic upper paint is smooth, though the roof shows some dark, mottled storage blemishes/reaction marks common with prolonged box contact. High edges like the hood spine show zero play-wear rubbing.
• Windows & Interior: Clear plastic glazing is bright and intact. The sliding window mechanism operates correctly, showing just a tiny pin-prick of paint rub on the outer guide pillar. The chauffeur figure and interior are immaculate.
• Wheels & Baseplate: Features original bright spun aluminum hubs with round, pliable black treaded tires. The gloss black tinplate base is flawless, retaining nearly 100% of its finish with crisp lettering and no corrosion.
• Enhancements: Period-style aftermarket water-slide decals (a \"CRI 253\" license plate and a \"GB\" nationality oval) have been neatly applied to the rear trunk lid by a previous collector or more likely child owner.
• The Box: Excellent condition. The red and yellow cardboard faces are vibrant and free of UV fading. The box maintains its rigid shape with all end flaps and internal tuck tabs firmly attached. One yellow end flap features a neat, period shopkeeper’s handwritten price of \'6/11\', dating this to the original 1962–1966 release run.
