This is a 51cm Belgian-built Eddy Merckx lugged-steel road bicycle from the heart of the classic 1980s era. It is finished in metallic blue over chrome, with a chromed fork and chromed Campagnolo forged dropouts. Serial 1M X6353.
The build combines desirable period Campagnolo equipment with carefully selected later rider upgrades. It should be understood as a curated vintage rider and collector build, not as an untouched factory-original 1985 specification.

The underside of the bottom bracket is stamped 1M / Z6353.Its sequence position among documented Z-series frames supports a 1985 production date.

Used vintage condition with honest cosmetic wear. The metallic blue finish presents very well overall, with a few minor paint chips, scratches and age-related marks, particularly around the stays and rear dropout area. The chrome has normal surface marks and patina.
Provenance and Historical Context
The frame was purchased on in July 2024 and assembled in the configuration shown. No team use, racing provenance or continuous original ownership is claimed.
Eddy Merckx opened his Meise bicycle operation in 1980 after learning from Italian master Ugo De Rosa, who helped train the company\'s first workers. This bicycle reflects that compelling Belgian and Italian connection: Belgian racing identity, traditional European steel construction and classic Campagnolo equipment.
