Original vintage Electro-Voice Model 309 professional microphone shock mount.This is the earlier American-made Model 309, not the later 309A. Period Electro-Voice literature identifies the Model 309 as a shock mount for the classic Electro-Voice RE20 microphone. The mount uses a suspended inner microphone holder to isolate the microphone from stand, boom and handling vibrations. The later 309A continued the same general application; Electro-Voice describes that design as using four molded suspension cords within a metal framework to isolate the microphone mechanically.
