Vintage Esquire Footman De Luxe Shoe Shine Box Caddy Brush Polish 1940s 50s
Wonderful vintage Esquire Footman De Luxe wooden shoe-shine valet/caddy, featuring its original “ESQUIRE FOOTMAN De Luxe – PAT. PEND.” branding on the front.
This classic wooden shoe-care station features a sturdy built-in carrying handle/footrest, divided storage compartments, and curved holders along the front for polish tins. The warm aged wood and visible patina give it a fantastic authentic vintage appearance.
Included with the valet is an Esquire-branded wooden “Shoe Polisher” brush, along with the assortment of vintage shoe-care items pictured, including additional brushes/polishers, polishing cloth or pads, and several vintage shoe-polish and shoe-care containers. The matching Esquire marking on the wooden polisher is a particularly nice addition to the set.
Based on comparable examples, this style of Esquire Footman De Luxe appears to date to approximately the mid-20th century / 1940s–1950s era. Exact production year has not been confirmed.
The valet remains in good vintage display condition with age-appropriate wear, including scratches, scuffs, marks, finish wear and areas of discoloration from use and storage. It has not been refinished, retaining its attractive original aged character and patina. Vintage shoe-care products are included as collectible/display items; usability of the contents has not been tested.
