Wonderful set of 2 vintage Franciscan Starburst bread & butter plates, featuring the iconic atomic-inspired design associated with classic Mid-Century Modern American dinnerware.

Each plate has a warm cream-colored, lightly speckled ground decorated with colorful abstract starbursts in turquoise blue, olive green and golden yellow, accented by thin dark intersecting lines.

The asymmetrical atomic design gives these small plates the unmistakable 1950s Mid-Century Modern look that has made Franciscan Starburst highly collectible.

Condition:
Good pre-owned vintage condition with noted flaws to one plate.

One plate has a chip on the underside/back rim and an additional very small chip on the outer rim, both shown in the close-up photographs. The larger chip is primarily confined to the underside and is barely noticeable when the plate is sitting or displayed face-up. The second outer-rim chip is quite small but is being noted for accuracy.

Both chips are on the same plate. The second plate has no chips or cracks noted.

The decorative surfaces remain attractive, with the colorful Starburst design presenting beautifully. Light signs of previous use and age may be present, consistent with vintage dinnerware.
