Beautiful vintage French faience jardinière / planter, marked “France” and “3631” on the underside. This substantial decorative piece features an ornate hand-painted design in rich cobalt blue, yellow, green, red, and pale blue with intricate floral, foliate, and scroll motifs.
The unusual faceted rectangular form is finished with decorative shell-shaped handles on each end and a pale blue glazed interior. The glaze displays extensive crazing consistent with age, giving the piece wonderful antique character.
Condition: This piece is being sold as-is with age-related wear and damage. There are multiple chips and areas of glaze loss along the upper rim, including one larger chip, as clearly shown in the photographs.
