Vintage German Tin Litho Alligator Crocodile Wind Up Toy 15" Working Germany

Vintage German tin lithographed wind-up alligator/crocodile toy, measuring approximately 15" long x 3" wide.
This impressive oversized tin toy features detailed green, black, and red lithographed decoration with a dimensional scaled body, articulated/open mouth with red interior, four molded legs, long tapered tail, and original clockwork wind-up mechanism. The side is clearly marked “MADE IN GERMANY.”
The wind-up mechanism has been tested and is working, as demonstrated in the video included with the listing. The underside is open, allowing the original mechanical clockwork components and wheels to be seen.
The toy retains a wonderful aged appearance with honest play wear and patina throughout. There are scattered areas of paint/litho loss, scratches, scuffs, and surface wear, particularly along the back, tail, mouth, and raised edges. Despite its age and use, the alligator presents beautifully and the detailed lithography remains vibrant.

Condition Report:
Good vintage condition with working clockwork mechanism. Shows age-appropriate play and storage wear including scattered scratches, scuffs, paint/lithograph loss, finish wear, small chips, and patina throughout. More noticeable finish loss is present along portions of the back and tail, with additional wear around the mouth and raised edges. Some minor oxidation/age discoloration is visible on exposed metal components. Body remains highly presentable with strong green, black, and red lithographed graphics. Wind-up mechanism was tested and operates; see listing video for operation. Marked “MADE IN GERMANY.”
