Bring the dynamic spirit of the deep ocean into your home with this gorgeous vintage hand-carved ironwood marlin sailfish sculpture. Masterfully crafted from a single piece of incredibly dense, heavy desert ironwood, this mid-century style statue features a magnificent billfish leaping gracefully from a textured, raw-cut natural wood log base.
The highly polished wood showcases the breathtaking, signature tight dark brown and espresso swirling grain lines that ironwood is famous for, contrasting beautifully against the rugged, organic base.
A phenomenal statement piece for an office desk, library shelf, nautical mantle display, or a collector of authentic maritime folk art.
Dimensions: 11.75\" Tall x 9\" Long x 3\" WideWeight: 2 lbs unpacked (Extremely solid, dense, and naturally weighted)
Condition: Excellent pre-owned vintage condition. The sculpture is structurally pristine and completely free of any chips, cracks, broken fins, or repairs. The long, delicate sword bill is fully intact and sharp. Please note there is a beautiful, natural light-colored sapwood streak visible on one side of the dorsal fin (shown in close-up photos), which is a common characteristic of authentic hand-carved ironwood and highlights its organic, handmade origin.
