beautiful, hand-carved vintage wooden architectural bracket depicting a Yali (or Yazhi), the majestic mythical protector creature from traditional South Indian temple architecture. Part lion, part elephant, and part horse, this striking creature is beautifully rendered with traditional stylized details along the mane, scales, and wings. This piece features a gorgeous, distressed vintage wash with subtle turquoise/teal pigment nestled into the deeper carved grooves, contrasting beautifully against the aged, natural wood tones. It comes securely mounted on a sturdy, matching rectangular wooden base, making it immediately ready for display as a standalone tabletop sculpture or bookshelf focal piece. A fantastic statement object for collectors of Asian art, lovers of global bohemian decor, or interior designers looking for a unique, sculptural layer with history. Excellent vintage condition with beautiful, intentional distressing to replicate an antique architectural fragment. Minor natural splits, wood grain variations, and paint weathering inherent to handmade vintage wood crafts
