Vintage Santo Niño de Cebu Wood Carved Bas Relief Plaque 12" Infant Jesus Religious Folk Art
This is a stunning, vintage hand-carved wooden bas-relief plaque depicting the Santo Niño de Cebu (the Holy Child Jesus). This beautifully detailed religious folk art icon features the Infant Christ depicted in ornate royal vestments, wearing a crown, and holding a globus cruciger (orb representing dominion over the world) in his left hand while his right hand is raised in a traditional two-fingered blessing gesture. The central figure boasts a beautifully detailed face and hands, set inside a deeply recessed oval medallion frame adorned with a decorative scalloped edge. It is finished in classic devotional colors with rich red robes, deep brown tones, and subtle gold/cream accents.

Material: Hand-carved solid hardwood.
Format: Heavy dimensional wall plaque / bas-relief medallion.
Condition: Great vintage condition with a gorgeous aged patina. Shows minor, authentic wear, faint paint distressing, and surface character consistent with age and hand-craftsmanship. There is some wear on nose and fingers and one place toward the bottom-right where paint is chipping which is specifically pointed out in the photos. Please review all photos.
