Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear. Several holes, tears, and areas of fabric loss are present, primarily on the plaid backing, as shown in the photos. There is also some wear/separation to individual patchwork areas. Red yarn ties and stitching show some loose ends. Please review all photos closely for condition. Sold as found.
Vintage handmade patchwork quilt / blanket featuring a wonderful assortment of dark-toned suiting fabrics in navy blue, charcoal gray, brown, burgundy, muted pink, and black.
The individual rectangular patches are joined with contrasting bright red decorative stitching, giving the piece a distinctive handmade folk-art appearance. The reverse is constructed from dark plaid fabric and is hand tied throughout with red yarn.
The fabrics appear to include a mixture of wool and/or wool-blend suiting materials with a variety of textures, weaves, checks, and subtle stripes. This was likely made from repurposed clothing or fabric remnants, a traditional form of utilitarian patchwork quilting.
There are multiple areas of damage on the reverse including holes and fabric loss. These have been photographed clearly. Despite the wear, the front displays very well and has strong decorative character.
