Vintage Universal Creditors Collection System book from 139 North Clark Street, Chicago, Illinois. A commercial debt-collection kit containing perforated notices for businesses to send to customers with overdue accounts.
Likely early 1900s, although the exact publication date is unknown. It came from a group of documents largely dating between 1895 and 1907. The forms have preprinted “19___” date blanks.
Features include:
• Original cover advertising the system at $6.50
• Multiple blank “Final Notice Before Suit” forms
• Fields for creditor, debtor, amount owed, and payment deadline
• “Certified Statement of Account” section
• Red embossed seals and signature-style printing
• Fasteners holding the forms in place (loose from cover, but still holding forms together)
