The Metropolitan Museum of Art has long commissioned various companies to make reproductions of some historically significant and consequential items from our history. In the 1970s the MMA asked Imperial Glass Company to recreate these antique Dolphin candlestick holders originally produced by Boston and Sandwich Glass Company between 1855 and 1870. They did so beautifully and you’ll find the MMA mark on the bottom to indicate this. They glow brightly under UV and sparkle in the sun. See photos for details!
