Vintage Japanese Chiyogami Style Mini Tansu – 3 Drawer Storage Chest
Beautiful vintage Japanese miniature chest featuring colorful traditional Japanese-style floral and seasonal motifs.
The chest has a striking dark background with green borders and richly detailed patterns featuring flowers, autumn leaves, pine motifs, traditional umbrellas and other Japanese decorative elements.
It has three practical drawers:
* One large upper drawer
* Two smaller lower drawers
The dark metal-style ring pulls complement the traditional Japanese design.
This item was stored for many years in a family sideboard in Japan and has a wonderful Showa-retro appearance.
The construction feels quite sturdy, although the exact material is unknown. It appears to be primarily paper/cardboard or paper-covered construction. Therefore, it is not described as solid wood or genuine lacquer.
It can be used as a jewelry box, accessory chest, stationery organizer, sewing box, trinket storage or simply as a decorative Japanese interior piece.
