Enclosed in plastic and mounted on base stamped JAPAN. The Japanese lettering mounted inside the caae translates to The Maiden at Dojoji or Musume Dojoji. The exact age of this doll is not known and appears to be an export from Japan from the 1950's to 1970's. The case has a hole on one side and is partially loose from the base, however, it appears that the case has never been removed and the doll and kimono are well-preserved.
