Beautiful vintage Japanese hand-painted porcelain plate, measuring approximately 5.5 inches in diameter. Features an ornate Satsuma-style figural scene with a central seated woman surrounded by four figures, accented with rich cobalt blue, red, green, black, brown, and extensive gold detailing.
The underside is stamped “HAND PAINTED JAPAN.” The raised and intricate gold decoration gives this small plate a striking display appearance. An unusual vintage Japanese decorative piece that is increasingly difficult to find in this size and design.
Condition: Very good vintage condition overall with age-related wear, including some wear/loss to the gold decoration and rim, light surface wear, and discoloration/marks on the underside.
