Up for sale is a beautiful vintage Japanese terracotta wall plaque depicting a high-relief Shishi (Guardian Lion-Dog) / Onigawara (ogre/demon roof tile style face). In Japanese tradition, these guardian faces were hung near entrances or roofs to ward off negative energy and bring protection to the home.

Material: Earthenware / Terracotta Clay with light whitewash highlights in the relief work.
Markings: Features an impressed square artist seal/stamp (hanko) on the bottom left corner.
Display: Includes the original twisted jute/hemp rope hanger passed through top mounting holes.
