An early version (though post-1945) opaque black glass bottle of Lanvin \"Prétexte\" containing fragrant oily remnants.
The bottle has a gold \'Lanvin Parfums\' printed design and gold lacquered raspberry design glass stopper. To the base is a circular gold label with the word \"PRÉTEXTE\" printed in caps across the centre - now very faintly visible - and the words \"MADE IN FRANCE\" - also only visible in a certain light.
The collar is chipped and the glass stopper is damaged at the tip.
This fragrance was launched for women in 1937 and discontinued in 1969. It is described as an amber-floral-leathery scent with woody undertones and it was announced as a fresh, provocative, unusual and rich fragrance.
