Vintage Lot 5 Ivan Brasil Terracotta Clay Sculpture - Brazilian Folk Art Figures
Offered as one lot are five hand-sculpted terracotta figures by Brazilian folk artist Ivan Brasil. Each character has a distinct expression and carries goods or belongings, with wonderful details in the faces, patched clothing, baskets, and bundles. The bases are incised with the artist’s name; at least one appears to be dated 1978.
These figures were acquired by my father while he was captain of the SS Santa Maria and have remained in our family since. They are being sold together as the group shown in the photos. A few were displayed in our living-room as a kid and put away sometime in the late 1980\'s and have been in storage ever since.
Condition:Excellent. No damage , chips or wear.
The listing includes all five figures shown. They will be individually wrapped and carefully packed and double boxed for safety during shipment.
