Vintage 1950\'s \"Texas Cat Cracker\" Gas / Oil Industrial Plant Framed Colored Lithograph by John Haymson ( 1903-1980 ) Measures 23 1/2\" x 29 1/2\". Still in very good condition, with original bleach wooden frame. Please check out my closeup photos! John Haymson was an Austrian-born American painter and printmaker best known for his expressive depictions of street scenes and women. Over the course of his expansive art career, Haymson worked with a variety of media, including lithography, watercolor, and oil paint. Born in 1902 in Vienna, Austria, Haymson went on to attend the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and worked as both a stage designer and fabric painter throughout Europe. In 1939, the artist fled Austria following the Nazi occupation and settled in New York, where he taught for a number of years at the Parsons School of Design. Today, Haymson’s works are in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. The artist died in 1980 in Hasting-on-Hudson, NY.
