Vintage five-piece Midgetoy die-cast metal toy train set, manufactured in Rockford, Illinois, USA.
The set includes:

The connected train measures approximately 17 inches long. Each piece is marked “Midgetoy Rockford Ill. U.S.A. Pat. 2775847” on the underside.
This set is in well-played-with vintage condition. There is substantial paint loss, chipping, scratches, scuffs, discoloration, surface oxidation and general wear throughout. The locomotive has particularly heavy finish wear. No original box, track or additional accessories are included.
