Vintage 1960s Handi-Bag purse by Handi Bag Co. Inc., New York, featuring a rich ruby/burgundy textured velvet or chenille-style exterior with gathered detailing and antiqued gold-tone chain straps.
A beautiful true vintage piece with its original Handi-Bag “The Sound of Fashion Handbags” hangtag still attached! The chain can be carried shorter as a handbag or extended for a longer shoulder drop. Hinges open. Finished with gold-tone ring closures and dark fabric lining with interior pocket.
Appears unused/new old stock, though there are a couple minor spots of age-related surface discoloration/variation to the fabric as shown. Original paper tag has creasing and age wear. Hardware shows normal vintage patina. Interior is very clean.
A 1965 penny was found inside the bag, which is a fun period detail and is included.
