Description: This joyful spring painting was brushed by Seigyu Kitagami (北上聖牛) (1891–1970), an accomplished Japanese-style painter born in Hokkaido. After moving to Kyoto, he studied under the legendary Kyoto master Seiho Takeuchi (竹内栖鳳), developing an extraordinary talent for lifelike nature observation and refined coloration that earned him selections at prestigious national exhibitions including the Bunten and Teiten. Titled \"Momo-no-Haru (桃の春)\" (Spring of Peaches), this horizontal composition depicts an adorable Japanese white-eye (Mejiro) resting among radiant blooming peach branches bursting with lively pink blossoms. In Japanese and East Asian culture, peach blossoms symbolize longevity, protection from misfortune, and the celebration of spring renewal, while the cheerful white-eye bird represents peaceful domestic harmony and good fortune. Rendered with textured trunk details and luminous colors on fine silk, this wide-format horizontal hanging scroll (Yekomono) brings an invigorating atmosphere of spring warmth and traditional refinement to any living space. Its well-balanced proportions make it an ideal centerpiece above a mantle, console, or modern interior wall. Accompanied by its authentic wooden box bearing the artist\'s own inscription, the lower corner bears the artist\'s signature \"聖牛 (Seigyu)\" alongside his authentic seal stamp.

Size: Approx. 26.0\" x 57.1\" (66.0 x 145.0 cm) (Overall), Approx. 20.3\" x 18.1\" (51.5 x 46.0 cm) (Work) (Width x Height).
